Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Loyola
University Medical Center. As space is available,
applications for visiting residents are reviewed by
individual program directors for approval.
Application to be considered for performing a rotation in
one of the LUMC departments must be submitted 90-days
prior to your expected start date. Upon approval,
required documentation must be received by the appropriate
department no later than 30 days prior to start of your
rotation.
All
visiting physicians must be currently in an ACGME-approved
training program in their home institution and must be
licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.
If you are not licensed or licensed from another state,
you will need to apply for an Illinois license to
practice medicine, even if only for one month. You have
two options:
Note: The application form and all required
documents must be received in the GME Office at least 3
weeks PRIOR to the start date of the rotation for
visiting residents who are currently in possession of an
Illinois Medical license. If you are not currently
licensed in Illinois, it will take about 3 MONTHS
to apply for and obtain a license. Please click the

to visit. Once the department approves the rotation
schedule and forwards the completed form and all required
attachments to the GME Office, you will receive final
notification by email from your contact person.
