Innovation and Collaboration

Dr. Leischner's vision and influence remain alive today in:

  • our unique curriculum
  • the design of our education building
  • the ongoing leadership he inspired at Stritch
  • the spirit and values of those he taught, those with whom he worked and those touched by his contribution

Innovation and collaboration will be the foundation of the Leischner Institute. The mission of the Leischner Institute is three fold:

  • develop faculty as exemplary medical educators
  • design, model and disseminate novel and innovative curricula
  • advance knowledge through the scholarly pursuit of measuring educational outcomes and researching medical education techniques

Housed within the nationally recognized Stritch School of Medicine, the Leischner Institute also will benefit from its affiliation with Loyola University Health System. In these way, the Leischner Institute will continue our emphasis on the holistic teaching of medical professionals and ensure that our curriculum and teaching methods adapt to the ever-changing needs of the health-care environment.
