Welcome to Bioinformatics

The goal of the Bioinformatics Core (BC) at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is to promote multidisciplinary collaboration, and enhance the research and education excellence and productivity of LUMC by providing access to consultation and support in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics and computational biology to all members of the Center. The prime objective of the BC is to facilitate the management, sharing, integration, synthesis, analysis and interpretation of multiplatform data from basic (molecular), clinical, and population sciences.

In addition to the campus-wide support in broad-spectrum biomedical informatics, the Bioinformatics Core of LUMC also collaborates with investigators to help incorporate cutting-edge genomic and/or proteomic approaches in their research and translating molecular information to bedside or clinical practices.

Bioinformaticians of BC function as co-investigators and key personnel on grants and co-authors on manuscripts, work on methodological issues important to the research ongoing at LUMC, and participate in bioinformatics educational workshops/seminars.
