Chindo Hicks, PhD, Assistant Professor
Principle Investigator

Dr. Hicks received his MSc. in statistical genetics from Mendel University of Agriculture in the Czech Republic (1989) and his Ph.D. in statistical genetics from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Denmark (1995). Dr. Hicks was a visiting research scholar at Purdue University in 1995, working on design and optimization of genetic testing. He then joined the Science and Technology Agency in Japan as a research fellow working on the Japanese Animal Genome Project (1997-1999). Upon return from Japan, Dr. Hicks joined Washington University School of Medicine as a junior faculty member in 2000 to work on cancer bioinformatics.

Before joining Loyola faculty, Dr. Hicks worked for the Institute of bioinformatics at the University of Georgia, as a cancer bioinformatician and computational systems biologist.

He joined Loyola University Medical Center in 2006 as a tenure track assistant professor of bioinformatics and statistical genetics.
