ACHRE was created in 1994 to investigate and report on the use of human beings as subjects of federally funded research using ionizing radiation. It is an intensive inquiry into the history of government-sponsored human radiation experiments and intentional environmental releases of radiation that occurred between 1944 and 1974.

SHHV-SBC Task Force on Standards for Bioethics Consultation

The Task Force was comprised of twenty-one scholars in the field of health care ethics, health care, and health policy. Additionally, representatives from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the College of Chaplains, and the American Association of Critical Ca re Nurses (AACN) served on this Task Force (SHHV and SBC were two of the societies that consolidated into ASBH).
