How do I apply to the program?
Applications for the master's and certificate programs are accepted on a
rolling basis and students are admitted for fall, spring and summer start
dates. Applications for the doctoral program are admitted for the fall
only. Admission
will be based on demonstrated ability in related professional and research
experience. Typical applicants to the Master's and Doctoral
degree programs should have an advanced academic (PhD, MA, MS) or professional degree (MD,
DO, DDS, PharmD, JD, BSN, MSN, MSW, STD, DMin, MPH) and work experience in a
related profession.
Applicants who
do not have a graduate or professional degree but are simultaneously
pursuing another graduate or professional degree may submit MCAT, LSAT, or
GMAT scores in lieu of the GRE (not required).
Applicants who have a bachelor’s degree and are not currently pursuing other
professional studies are encouraged to apply to the certificate program. The
certificate program may be taken as a stand-alone certificate; others pursue
the certificate as a point of entry into the M.A. program (for more
information about the certificate, please see below).
Transcripts for
all undergraduate and graduate work are required for admission. Applicants ordinarily must have achieved a grade point
average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (3.67 or higher for doctoral program) in their previous courses of study.
For more
information on Graduate School admission policies, go here:
http://www.luc.edu/gradschool/admission.shtml
The professional doctorate, master's and certificate programs require continuous registration
(excluding summer). This means that students
who matriculate into this program should plan on registering for at least
one course a semester. The program cannot accommodate students who are not
able to maintain continuous registration. Before applying, please make
sure that you are able to commit the necessary amount of time and resources
to fulfill the demands of this program.

one course may do so by applying as a non-degree seeking student. Applicants must have at least a
