Lena Hatchett, PhD is
Assistant Professor in both Bioethics and Health Policy and the Department of
Preventive Medicine. Dr. Hatchett received her Ph.D in Social/Health
Psychology from State University of New York Stony Brook and her
post-doctoral training in Public Health at University Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Hatchett has taught courses within community and Public Health for over
seven years and her research interests are focused on community based
participatory approaches to reduce racial and ethnic health disparities. Dr. Hatchett currently co-sponsors the Maywood Health Initiative, a community
partnership to build capacity for health related research and services.
Dr. Hatchett teaches Public Health Ethics (BEHP491) and Social Science and
Bioethics (BEHP 407), collaborates with the LUC Public Health Action
Project, and helped to develop Loyola University Chicago’s new Master of
Public Health Program.
