Friends of the Children is a non-profit organization that has been providing medical and
dental care to the poorest of the Haitians. Emergent, non-emergent, and
chronic medical conditions are treated along with providing patient
education and wellness measures. Friends of the Children also provides
patient education and wellness measures to the Haitian people as well as
education and resource to Caritas – a volunteer organization that provides
on-going basic health care in their respected villages.

"Personal Experiences of Haiti- Post Earthquake"
Presenters: John Underwood, DO,
Linda Underwood RN, Megan Hicks MS2, Aldene Brown MS2
John Underwood, DO, Linda
Underwood, RN, Megan Hicks MS2, and
Aldene Brown, MS2 will discuss their experiences of administering health
care in Haiti after the earthquake. A special focus will be made on the
history and current status of AIDS in Haiti. Dr. Underwood and his
wife Linda have lead the medical and dental mission, Friends of the
Children, in Haiti for the last 10 years. They have completed over 20 trips
to Haiti doing mission work. Megan Hicks accompanied them on their most
recent trip in late February of this year.
