Basic Health Plans
Loyola offers three different plans from which to choose -- two Blue
Cross/Blue Shield PPOs and one HMO.
These plans are available for employees and their dependents
on a pre-tax basis at low group rates.
Dental Insurance
Employees may select one of two different dental plans: a traditional
plan and a Dental Maintenance Plan. Loyola offers these
plans for employees and their dependents on a pre-tax basis
at low group rates.
Vacation
Employees are entitled to paid vacation after one year of
employment (half the annual accrual may be taken after six months of
employment). Three weeks entitlement until completion of 9
years of service, then 4 weeks.
Personal Days
Employees below level of Administrative Department Head receive
two personal days (16 hours) at the beginning of each year.
Holidays
Loyola celebrates ten paid holidays per year.
Education Assistance
The Loyola University Medical Center offers educational
assistance benefits for courses taken at Loyola University Chicago
to eligible employees and their dependents.
As an employee you may be eligible for tuition benefits if
you are in an eligible full-time or part-time position and
have completed service requirements.
Disability Programs
Employees accrue ten paid days per year for personal illness with
a maximum accrual of 60 days. Loyola provides long term
disability coverage for eligible employees
- at no cost to them - following one year
of service.
Retirement
The Defined Contribution Retirement
Plan-Effective April 1, 2004
Effective the first day of the month
following your hire date Loyola will
contribute an amount equal to 8% of your salary to an account in
your name. The
contribution increases to 9% on earnings in excess of the
Social Security Taxable Wage Base ($87,900
in 2004). You may also make
contributions to this plan up to IRS
limits-$13,000 in pre-tax contributions in 2004 for employees under
50 years of age and $16,000 for those age 50 and over. You
will receive Loyola's contribution
regardless of whether you decide to make a contribution with your own pre-tax dollars. You can select
from among three retirement service providers and determine
for yourself how this money will be
invested with:

TIAA-CREF;

Fidelity Investments; or
-
AIG-VALIC.
The Loyola
Retirement Center (LRC) has been established at 773-508-2770
(on campus 8-2770) to answer enrollment questions or assist
you to implement enrollment decisions. If
you wish to set up or already have a TIAA
account, representatives will be able to help you enroll
or answer your questions about your TIAA account.
Life Insurance
Loyola provides life insurance to employees - free of charge.
Coverage is equivalent to one and one-half times the annual salary.
Over-Time
Hours over 40 in a week are paid at straight time.

IN ADDITION, THE DEPARTMENT OF
ANESTHESIOLOGY PROVIDES THE
FOLLOWING BENEFITS:
Professional Allowance: $1000 (Fiscal year July 1 through June
30) can be used for either meeting or book expenses.
Meeting Time: 5 days (40 hours, based
on fiscal year); 10 days(80 hours) after 3 years of employment.
Reimbursements: Professional License - AANA Certification, and
AANA Membership.
Additional department funding for local meetings held by the
Chicago and Illinois Societies of Anesthesiology.
Part-Time
5 days = 40 hours per year meeting time. Can use as personal, if
you don't have an opportunity to
use as meeting time.
$500 allowance = Hours and allowance does not have to be
prorated.
No Holiday Pay.
