Pain Treatment Center

The Pain Management Clinic is a multidisciplinary program in which a team of specialists provide a wide spectrum of services to relieve chronic pain. The pain management program is based on an initial evaluation of the patient's condition, which includes a review of the referring physician's findings, and diagnostic tests, a detailed history and physical examination.

Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures may then be performed and include: epidural steroid injections, trigger point injections, peripheral nerve blocks, acupuncture, osteopathic manipulative treatment, placement of epidural catheters or intrathecal pumps for home infusion therapy with local anesthetic and/or pain medicines, neuroaugmentation implantable devices (spinal cord stimulators), neurolytic nerve blocks, radiofrequency procedures, intradiscal procedures, TENS, physical and occupational therapy, biofeedback, therapeutic massage, medical hypnosis, pain medication titration and maintenance, cognitive-behavioral techniques such as individual, group, or family psychotherapy.

The Pain Management Center is offered on an outpatient basis at Loyola Outpatient Center, Oakbrook Terrace Medical Center, and the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center.
