National Board Examinations
As a graduation
requirement, all students are required to register as
a candidate and to record a passing total score on USMLE
1. In cases where a student requires more than one attempt
to successfully record a passing score on USMLE 1, the
National Board of Medical Examiners Policy regarding
re-examination will apply. A passing total score on
USMLE 1 must be reported to the Office of Registration
and Records by January of the senior year. In cases
where a student requires more than one attempt to successfully
record a passing score on USMLE 1, the National Board
of Medical Examiners Policy regarding re-examination
will apply. A passing score must e obrained and reported
to the Registrar no later than january of the senior
year in order for the student to be eligible to register
for the last two quarters (last semester). Students
who do not meeti this graduation requirement by Januaryof
the senior year and have exhausted allremedition opportunities
permitted by the NtionalBoard of medical Examiners will
not be permitted togradute from the Stritch School of
Medicine.
Students
are required to take and record a score for USMLE 2
during September or April of the fourth year and have
the score reported to the Office of Registration and
Records prior to the last day of classes. It is recommended
that students take USMLE 2 after successful completion
of all required junior year clerkships. A passing score
on USMLE 2 is not a condition for either promotion or
graduation.
Students
should consult the NBME USMLE brochure regarding registration
deadlines, fees, test administration procedures, score
reporting procedures, and re-examination policy. National
Board publications are available from the Office of
Registration and Records.
