Academic
Policy Manual Part II (3rd and 4th Years)
Preface
The provisions
of Academic Policy contained in the Academic Policy
Manual, Part II apply to the third and fourth years
of the Stritch School of Medicine curriculum and apply
to all students starting their clinical training in
July 1991. The 1991 edition of the Academic Policy Manual,
Part II was approved by the Medical Council of the Stritch
School of Medicine on June 17, 1991 and supersedes all
previous Academic Policy Manuals. The Stritch School
of Medicine reserves the right to review and amend policy
governing academics and promotions prior to the beginning
of each academic year. The changes may be binding on
all currently enrolled students.
Policies
regarding preparation and registration of the student's
elective program in the third and fourth years appear
in the Elective Catalogue and the Introduction to Clinical
Years Manual of the Stritch School of Medicine. There
are a few instances, such as in the cases of the Medical
Humanities Program and Clerkship Track System where
more detailed descriptions of policy and procedures
are published and distributed to students separately.
Certain other policies and procedures of Loyola University
Chicago which apply to Stritch students are published
in the Student Handbook which is available through the
University's Dean of Students Office located on the
Medical Center Campus. Also see section titled Related
University and School Policies at the end of this document.
It is the personal responsibility of each student to
acquire an active knowledge of the academic policies
and procedures contained in the Academic policy Manual,
Part II and Elective Catalogue, as well as general policies
contained in the Student Handbook.
