Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine, Division of Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.  Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Course Objectives:  At the conclusion of this program the particpant will be able to:

  1. Explain the nutritional utilization for folic acid, iron and other nutritional supplements in the development of pregnancy and the prevention of fetal anomalies.
  2. Describe the utilization of hormone replacement therapy for the education of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease in the postmenopausal woman with reducing risks for breast cancer and endometrial cancer.
  3. Describe the newer techniques for surgical correction of incontinence and utilization of pelvic floor surgery for the re-establishment of continence in women with pelvic organ prolapsed leading to urinary incontinence.
