Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of
Medicine, Division of Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity
for a maximum of 6 hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition
Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually
spent in the educational activity.
Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this
program the particpant will be able to:
- Explain the nutritional utilization for folic acid,
iron and other nutritional supplements in the development of pregnancy and the prevention
of fetal anomalies.
- Describe the utilization of hormone replacement
therapy for the education of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease in the postmenopausal
woman with reducing risks for breast cancer and endometrial cancer.
- Describe the newer techniques for surgical correction
of incontinence and utilization of pelvic floor surgery for the re-establishment of
continence in women with pelvic organ prolapsed leading to urinary incontinence.
