Thoracic vasculature and innervation |
Anterior wall |
supplied by anterior intercostals which are branches of the internal thoracic and musculophrenic arteries. Also supreme thoracic artery. |
Posterior wall |
supplied by posterior intercostals which are branches of the aorta and costocervical trunk. |
Venous drainage |
Venous drainage is into the brachiocephalic and azygos veins. |
Intercostal muscles are innervated by ventral rami of thoracic nerves. (intercostal nerves). |
